The organization was founded in 2005 as a project of the Atlanta Committee for Progress on behalf of Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and The Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Brand Atlanta is an economic development initiative principally focused on increasing the number of visitors to Atlanta and garnering the benefits of lengthened stays and increased individual spending. This effort contributes to the employment and economic growth of our vitally important hospitality and tourism industry.
